It is nice to work with somebody locally. It can be restricting on the Isle of Wight.

We went to Appley Beach in Ryde. Here's some of the results:

Xmas Present for Mum

We have two papillon dogs, Gizzy and Sparkey. Mum adores them. Thought these photographs of them framed will be a nice Xmas gift for her!

Ruby

Here are some pictures of Ruby who is an excellent model. I attended the Switch Photography evening event where there were a couple of models. Ruby's outfit really caught my eye and she was great to work with, even if it was a few minutes :)

My First Publication!

Nick Painless from Shanklin Freakshow had an interview in the latest issue of Devolution accompanied with some pictures that I took back in the Summer!

Adelphia of Kings

I went out a couple of nights ago to The Studio where some local bands were playing. One band I focused on particular were Adelphia of Kings (they're on Facebook and MySpace if Deathcore if your thing!).
Couple of my favourites from the night!

Weddings

First of all, a big thankyou to Martin of http://www.wightphotography.com/ for taking me on as a second shooter for his wedding photography bookings. I have learned alot from shooting weddings and it is great to be taken out of my comfort zone as alot of my work is studio based/posed so I usually take as much time as I wish. With events, you have to be aware of what is happening at all times and you have to capture the moment!

Below are a few samples of my work as a second shooter. And please do check out Martin's work (link above).

Chris and Lou on their special day today!

Self Portrait

I was just randomly playing about with my camera. I have black curtains in my bedroom and I pulled one back to allow some light through. I did originally experiment with myself sat next to the window looking straight at the camera but obviously, only one side of my face would be lit. To make things a bit more interesting, I turned my head towards the window and pulled some facial expressions knowing that I'd only get the light hitting just the very front of my face with everything else in darkness as there was no other available light.

I wanted to try something a bit more emotive so I pulled a screamy type face. I did a few variations of this with my eyes open and closed. I prefer the eyes open shot as my eyes are quite blue in real life anyway and the light in the picture really emphasizes this and makes them look kind of creepy looking! I cannot help but think this would be a suitable lighting set up for a vampire photoshoot. Perhaps I could edit in some fangs later on...

I do like my face in this one but it does lack freaky eyes!
